Let’s get started!

What are workout tights?

Workout tights, also known as leggings, are a type of fitness clothing. Workout tights have become one of the most popular pieces of working clothing, particularly for women. They are designed to mould to the shape of your legs, like a second skin. This means they are super comfortable, which is perfect for those challenging workouts. They ensure you can move without restriction, which is great for many different workouts. Whether you’re a regular in the yoga studio or you prefer long-distance running, you’ll be able to find a pair of tights that work for you.

Who should wear workout tights?

Workout tights can be worn by anyone. At Rebel Sport, we have a range of tights for men and tights for women. The important thing is to ensure they work for the type of workout you’ll be doing. We’ll discuss this in more detail later.

When to wear workout tights

Workout tights are super versatile and can be worn during most exercises. Workout tights are extremely popular for classes that involve a lot of stretching movements like Yoga and Pilates. The great thing about tights is that they act as a second skin, ensuring you have great mobility while exercising. So, whether you’re heading to spin class or the yoga studio, you’ll love how workout tights allow you to move. Remember, the right workout clothing shouldn’t interfere with your workout.

Tights are also a popular choice to wear in cooler weather, especially when working out outside, as they can offer more warmth than running shorts and less wind resistance than track pants.  Some tights also offer additional benefits, such as thermal tights for walking and running in cold weather, or compression tights for added support and muscle stabilisation when exercising.

Types of workout tights available at Rebel Sport

Short Tights

If you are looking for short tights that have less coverage, then check out our wide selection of short tights. This style is designed to be approximately 3-10” long and should sit above the knee. Also known as bike shorts, this is the perfect style for warmer days, specifically if you’re working out in the great outdoors.

3/4 Tights

If you’re looking for something a little longer, check out our range of ¾-length tights. These tights will fit just below the knee, perfect for training outside when it's in-between seasons. This style will still give you a good range of motion, offering you the freedom to move.

7/8 Tights

If you prefer tights with more coverage, you’ll love our range of â…ž length tights.

This style offers a slightly shorter fit than our full-length tights.

This is a good choice for those who find full-length tights too long for their frame.

Full Length Tights

If you’re looking for tights with full coverage, discover our range of full-length tights.

This style is suited to those with a taller frame.

Full-length tights are also great to wear during the colder months.

Keep warm while you work out!

How to choose the right tights for you

When it comes to choosing the right workout tights for you, there are a few different things to consider. Tights have different construction technologies and features that cater for different activities such as yoga, running and working out. Our product descriptions outline these features and provide you with information on the material and fit of the tights. Some features to look out for include sweat-wicking material to keep you feeling dry, breathable fabrics, discreet pockets, different types of waistbands, mesh panels, and various seam types. A good pair of tights will keep you cool and dry, provide the right support and features, and they will not only look great on, but they will feel great too.

Shop by activity

We recommend that you choose workout tights based on your preferred length and based on what exercise you’ll be doing. Buying workout tights that are designed with a particular activity in mind means you won’t have to sacrifice performance. Here are some of the most popular:

Tights for running

If you love high-impact activities like running, you’ll love our range of running tights. At Rebel Sport, we have a curated range of specialist running tights. These are made from sweat-wicking fabrics that draw sweat away from your body and prevent you from feeling damp, so you can focus on smashing your fitness goals. Wearing specialist tights for running is said to improve circulation, reduce resistance and increase speed. Shop for tights and leggings by all of your favourite brands including New Balance, adidas, Nike and more.

Tights for yoga

For low-impact activities, like yoga, we have an unbeatable range of yoga leggings and tights. Designed specifically for your comfort, allowing for more flexibility and free-flowing movement. Tights that have been designed for yoga are usually soft to the touch and have less compression. This will ensure you can enjoy your 90-minute yoga class in comfort. Explore our range of yoga tights by leading brands such as adidas, Puma and more.

Tights for working out

If you’re looking for the perfect pair of tights for working out at the gym, check out our range of workout tights. Tights for working out should be made from sweat-wicking fabrics so you can keep dry, even when the heat builds. Wearing the right tights for working out should allow you to move freely while promoting good circulation. At Rebel Sport, we’ve got a huge range of tights for working out. How should workout tights fit?

If you’re wondering how tight your workout tights should be, we’ve got you covered. Your workout leggings should fit like a second skin, but not cut off your circulation, roll down, bunch behind the knees or around the seat, or require constant adjusting. The fit should be firm, but comfortable. The last thing you want is to be distracted from your workout by uncomfortable tights!

If you are looking for more support and coverage, you’ll love a high-rise fit. High-rise tights are designed to fit securely around the waist and lower back and offer a comfortable held-in feel. On the other hand, a mid-rise pair of tights will generally sit at the belly button and have an elastic waistband to hold you in.

Compression tights should fit like a second skin against your body, tight and form-fitting without restricting any of your movement. They are designed to apply compressive pressure to your muscles, but they should not cause any pain or make you feel uncomfortable. Compression tights are also designed to help reduce the risk of injury and speed up recovery to keep you performing at your best. When it comes to compression tights, they have their own signature fit.

Make sure to check out the Size Guide above the product description when viewing our tights. Sizes may differ slightly according to the brand. When trying tights on for the first time, it might pay to move around a bit to ensure you are happy with the fit. Try a few squats or lunges, go for a short walk around the changing room and imitate some of the moves you typically do during a workout. If your tights stay in place and feel comfortable, you’ve found a great fit.

Is it better to size up or down in tights?

When it comes to finding the perfect workout tights, it’s all about how they fit. We recommend you consult our size guide to find your perfect size. This will give you an indication of what size to try. If you find that your tights are slipping down or look a little baggy, you might want to try a size down. On the other hand, if the tights are uncomfortably tight and feel like they are digging in, try a size up. You want to find the sweet spot with your tights, ensure they fit well so you can feel comfortable and supported throughout your workout.
